Explicación

Place adverb: "home where we've lived" - "where" connects the home (place) to the action of living there. Not "when" (time) or "which" (thing).

Subject pronoun for people: "Edmund Claremont who first lived here" - "who" for person doing the action (lived). Not "which" (for things).

Object pronoun for things: "ship which he commanded" - "which" for non-person object (ship). "That" also works but "who" is wrong (not person).

Reason adverb: "reason why he became hero" - "why" explains cause/purpose. Only adverb that fits reason questions.

Place adverb: "land where castle stands" - "where" links physical location. Not "when" (time) or "which" (specific thing).

who = people

Person - the one sitting (who is)

Person - William (people)

Event as thing: "civil war which broke out" - events treated as "things" take "which." Not "who" (not person).

Possessive: "William, whose wife was beauty" - "whose" = possession for people/things. Shows relationship (William → wife).

Time adverb: "year when son was born" - "when" for specific time periods. Not "where" (place) or "which" (thing).

Place adverb: "dining room where we'll see" - future location of action (seeing pictures).
