7

Write a short paragraph (3–4 sentences) describing a personal experience using at least three intensifiers from the video (e.g., very, really, extremely, absolutely, somewhat, rather).

Written answer

Explanation

“Somewhat” is the limited intensifier. The others (extremely, really, absolutely) are much stronger.

“Quite” and “Rather” are the strong intensifiers. “Extremely” and “Very” belong to the strongest group.

The most common intensifier is “very.” The video even mentions that it’s often overused.

Using stronger intensifiers makes your English more expressive.

“At all” emphasizes negatives (“I don’t like it at all”). It shows total absence.

Intensifiers make adjectives or actions stronger. Adverbs of frequency talk about how often something occurs (always, often, rarely).

Your paragraph should show weak, strong, and very strong intensifiers. Keep experimenting with words like somewhat, rather, very, extremely, absolutely, etc. The more variety you use, the more natural your English will sound.
