Laura
Jones
Laura
started
running
after
signing
to
run
the
Everest
Marathon
in
May
2017
.
Laura
has
building
up
her
distances
and
set
an
even
bigger
challenge
;
to
run
a
marathon
on
each
of
the
7
continents
in
one
year
.
Despite
having
never
run
more
one
kilometre
at
the
outset
,
she
agreed
run
the
Everest
Marathon
after
a
few
glasses
of
wine
!
,
reality
set
in
the
next
morning
and
she
began
to
form
her
training
plan
.
Day
to
day
,
Laura
runs
a
luxury
adventure
travel
company
,
Monix
Adventures
,
with
husband
Rhys
.
The
Everest
marathon
idea
itself
was
conceived
a
client
and
friend
who
wanted
to
run
one
marathon
in
his
life
,
and
wanted
it
to
be
spectacular
.
Too
good
an
opportunity
to
miss
,
Laura
jumped
the
chance
of
being
his
running
partner
.
After
the
initial
hurdle
of
starting
training
,
Laura
fell
in
love
running
and
that's
when
she
decided
to
set
the
main
goal
of
the
7
marathons
.
She
wants
to
encourage
others
to
break
down
their
own
barriers
and
overcome
the
fear
of
judgement
about
being
good
enough
,
fit
enough
or
fast
enough
.
Laura
believes
that
with
enough
determination
,
self
belief
and
commitment
,
you
can
achieve
anything
.
Her
schedule
starts
in
London
on
23rd
April
,
for
what
will
definitely
be
busiest
of
the
7
marathons
.
Then
on
29th
May
it's
the
Everest
Marathon
,
the
world's
highest
,
starting
at
over
5
,
300m
.
Swiftly
after
that
she'll
running
the
Banff
Marathon
on
18th
June
.
Summer
will
be
spent
training
,
before
it
kicks
off
again
on
9th
September
for
the
Patagonia
Marathon
,
then
22nd
October
in
Australia
for
the
Rottnest
Island
Marathon
.
The
Antarctic
Marathon
is
on
1st
Feb
2018
,
with
a
quick
turnaround
before
the
heat
of
Africa
and
finishing
with
the
Kilimanjaro
Marathon
on
25th
February
2018
!

.
Fiona
Oakes
made
great
achievements
in
her
running
,
which
seem
all
the
more
impressive
given
her
incredibly
full
lifestyle
which
means
that
training
competes
with
a
number
of
other
demands
on
her
time
and
energy
.
