The East Javan langur is a primate that lives in Indonesia , especially on the island of Java . is also called the ebony lutung or Javan langur . This animal belongs to the monkey family and is classified as vulnerable because population is decreasing .
The East Javan langur usually glossy black fur with a brown color on legs and sides . Baby langurs are orange . It has a very long tail that can grow longer than body . This animal lives in rainforests and spends most of its time in trees . is active during the day . The East Javan langur mainly eats leaves , fruits , flowers , and buds , but it sometimes eats insect larvae too .
East Javan langurs are social animals . live in groups of about seven members with one two two adult males . Females care for babies and sometimes help protect other young langurs in the group . The East Javan langur is important for the forest ecosystem , but it faces threats from habitat loss and human activities .

Sadly , elephants have often been hunted for tusks .
