Last year , Sofia had the opportunity to spend six months in Canada as part of an exchange program . At first , she was very excited the trip , but she was also a little worried leaving her family and friends behind .

A few days before her departure , she argued her brother because he wanted borrow her camera . Later , he apologized being impatient , and they quickly made peace .

When Sofia arrived Toronto , she immediately fell love the city . She was impressed the tall buildings and multicultural atmosphere . During her first week , she had to choose several after - school activities . Since she had always been interested photography , she joined the photography club .

Her host family was very kind her and helped her adapt Canadian life . Sofia quickly became close her host sister , Emma . They spent hours talking music , movies , and school life .

At school , Sofia wasn't very good understanding some local expressions at first , but her classmates were patient . She often asked them explanations when she didn't understand something .

One day , the class visited a famous museum known its collection indigenous art . Sofia was fascinated some of them and learned a lot . The experience reminded her a museum she used to visit her grandparents in Argentina .

As the months passed , Sofia became more confident . She no longer depended translation apps every day . She even gave a presentation Argentine culture and was very proud herself afterward .

Near the end her stay , Sofia started thinking returning home . Although she was looking forward seeing her family again , she felt sad leaving Canada . She had become very fond her new friends and her host family .

On her last evening , everyone gathered a farewell dinner . Sofia thanked her host parents all their support and promised keep in touch them . When she finally left , she felt grateful the experience and excited the future .
