Intention:
In this activity, students will practice forming Present Continuous sentences in Middle English, both affirmative and negative.
Instructions:
Unscramble the letters to find the correct verb. Use the correct form of the verb “to be” (am, art, is, ben) to complete the sentence.
Make sure to pay attention to affirmative (+) and negative (-) sentences.
Example (affirmative):
Scrambled letters: g n i l n i s
Sentence: I ___ __________ a song.
Answer: I am singing a song.
Example (negative):
Scrambled letters: w o r k i n g
Sentence: He ___ not __________ in the feld.
Answer: He is not working in the feld.
This activity will help students:
Identify verb phrases in Present Continuous.
Build affirmative and negative sentences describing actions happening now.
Reinforce the correct use of Middle English forms of “to be” with verbs ending in -ing / -ande.
