Unit 1: Photosynthesis

Sobre esta actividad

Photosynthesis is the process by which green plants make their own food using light energy from the Sun.

During photosynthesis, plants take in carbon dioxide from the air and water from the soil. The chlorophyll in the leaves absorbs sunlight energy, which is then used to convert these substances into glucose (a type of sugar) and oxygen.

The glucose produced is used by the plant as food for energy or is stored as starch for later use. The oxygen released is a by-product and is important for all living organisms to breathe.
