English Around the World
English is one of the most spoken languages in the world . But what is a language ?
A language is a way for people to communicate , and it changes all the time . The words and expressions people use today can be different from those used many years ago .

What is International English ?
Some people say International English is the way English is used when people from different countries talk to each other . The speaker or writer tries to use and clear words so everyone can understand , even if English is not their first language . This idea is similar to " Simplified English " .

English and Globalisation
English is present everywhere : in music , films , the internet , and even in our speech ? for example , words like selfie or download .
Globalisation connects people from all around the world , and English is the language that helps them communicate . It is the international language of travel , business , and .

Knowing English brings many :
It helps you read and understand more .
You can study or work .
It is important for your résumé .
You can talk to people from different countries .
You can know new cultures without translation .

Today , speaking English means being ready for the modern world and its fast changes . It helps you your personal and professional life .

English in Our Surroundings
Even if we don ? t notice , English is everywhere . Look around and you ? ll find words like milkshake , notebook , light , diet , shopping , and download .
We use these words naturally in Portuguese because English is part of our .

English is also important in different situations :
Travel : in airports , menus , and signs .
Entertainment : most popular movies and series are in English .

Simplified English
In some jobs , English needs to be even easier to understand . Simplified Technical English ( STE ) was created to help people read and write technical manuals . It started in the aviation industry and is used today in different areas to make sure everyone can understand the instructions correctly and accidents .

The Globalised World
Globalisation brings good and bad things . It helps people products and ideas faster , but sometimes rich countries get richer while poorer countries lose jobs .
Many factories move to cheaper countries , and some workers lose their jobs .
So , globalisation connection , but it can also create inequality .

When people from different places talk , their can change the way they are understood . Still , English continues to be the main language that connects the world .
