It is continuous with the cornea. 2 The cornea is a structure in the outer layer of the eye that is continuous with the sclera. This structure helps to protect the eye and bends light to hit the lens. 3 The choroid is the middle layer of the eye and contains vasculature that will provide oxygen and nutrients to the eye. 4 The iris is the colored portion of the eye that controls the size of the pupil. 5 The pupil is the hole in the middle of the iris where light will enter into the eye 6 The lens is a marble like structure in the eye that will focus light on the retina in a process called accommodation (changing the shape of the lens) 7 The ciliary body contains muscle to control the shape of the lens. 8 The retina is the innermost layer of the eye that contains photoreceptors (rods to see black and white and cones to see color). 9 The optic nerve is the nerve that takes visual information from the eye to the occipital lobe of the brain.
