There's two to allow for depth perception. 2 The head rotates and changes the width of the ocular lens. 3 The arm of the microscope serves as a handle to pick up the microscope. 4 The rotating nose piece allows for adjusting which objective lens is being used. 5 There are 4 objective lens that allow for viewing specimen at different magnifications. 6 The mechanical stage clip holds the slide in place on the stage. 7 The mechanical stage is a movable bracket while holding the slide. 8 The mechanical stage adjustment knobs move the mechanical stage and the slide from left to right, up and down. 9 The coarse focus moves the stage up and down in large increments. 10 The fine focus knobs moves the stage up and down in small increments, helping improve resolution. 11 The condenser focuses light onto the slide from below. 12 The condenser diaphragm lever controls the amount of light passing through the stage to the specimen, helping improve contrast. 13 The lamp provides a light source to see the specimen. 14 The rheostat controls the brightness of the lamp. 15 The base of the microscope helps keep it stable and contains the power supply and on/off switch. 16 The condenser diaphragm adjustment knob adjusts the height of the condenser, controlling how the light hits the slide, helping in resolution. 17 The stage provides a surface for placing the slide.
