Explanation

Acadia First Nation is a Mi'kmaq First Nation in southwestern Nova Scotia. Comprising of six reserves with a population of 1,902.

Glooscap First Nation is a Mi'kmaq community near Hantsport Nova Scotia. Founded in 1984 and was named after legendary Mi'kmaq hero, Glooscap.

Bear River First Nation has existed in the Bear River area for over 2000 years. The Indigenous peoples here were known as canoe builders who used their craft for fishing and hunting fish in the Annapolis Basin and Bay of Fundy.

The Annapolis Valley First Nation Mi'kmaq community is located in southwestern Nova Scotia and has a population of approximately 321.

Sipekne'katik First Nation is located near Shubenacadie Nova Scotia. The community was officially founded as a reserve in 1820 named "Indian Brook". In 2013 the community reclaimed its traditional name Sipekne'katik and currently has a population of nearly 3000.
