More than half a million US soldiers were already in Vietnam and protests were gathering more people each day to stop the war and bring the troops back. Vietnam is a French Colony. Kennedy refused to have an armed conflict in Vietnam, however, sent military forces to work as advisors from Southern Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh creates the Vietnamese Communist Party.
