Nervous System DivisonsVersión en línea

Figure the correct word by reading the descriptions of each division of the nervous system or parts of the nervous system

por Parker Smith
1

The motor division of the autonomic nervous system is subdivided further into __________ and 2._______________ divisions.

2

The motor division of the autonomic nervous system is subdivided further into 1.___________ and _______________ divisions.

3

This is 1 of the 2 major divisions of the Nervous System. It detects changes in the internal and external environment through sensory receptors located throughout the body and relays this sensory information via afferent (sensory) nerve fibers to the CNS. It is further divided into the somatic nervous system (SNS), autonomic nervous system (ANS), and enteric nervous system (ENS).

4

It is continuous with the medulla oblongata as it exits the skull through the foramen magnum, and descends into the vertebral canal. It consists of 31 segments corresponding to the 31 pairs of nerves.

5

This nervous system, often referred to as the involuntary nervous system, comprises autonomic sensory (afferent) nerve fibers that transmit sensory information from receptors in visceral organs, such as the lungs, to the CNS; and autonomic motor (efferent) nerve fibers that relay impulses from the CNS to smooth muscle, cardiac muscle, and glands.

6

This is 1 of the 2 major divisions of the Nervous system. It contains the brain and the spinal cord. It is the processing and control center of the nervous system, analyzing and consolidating incoming sensory information and triggering motor responses.

7

Signals from the CNS are sent through ________ (motor) nerve fibers in cranial and spinal nerves to trigger motor responses in gland and muscle tissue.

8

This nervous system, often referred to as the 'brain of the gut', comprises enteric plexuses of nerves extending throughout the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. NB. The enteric nerves are not shown in the accompanying image. Enteric sensory (afferent) nerve fibers transmit sensory information, such as chemical change and stretch, from receptors throughout the gastrointestinal tract to the CNS, and enteric motor (efferent) nerve fibers relay impulses, via sympathetic and parasympathetic divisions, to smooth muscle and glands of the GI tract.

9

This nervous system, often referred to as the voluntary nervous system, comprises somatic sensory (afferent) nerve fibers that transmit sensory information from receptors on body surfaces, limbs, and special sense organs, to the CNS; and somatic motor (efferent) nerve fibers that relay impulses from the CNS to skeletal muscles throughout the body.

10

It is the control center of the nervous system. It occupies the cranial cavity and can be divided into four main parts: the brainstem, cerebellum, diencephalon, and cerebrum.
