Reading 1: Touchscreen & Drawing Tablet

Touchscreen devices have changed the way people interact with technology. A touchscreen, which allows users to control a device by tapping directly on the screen, is now found in phones, tablets, and even public kiosks. Designers often use a drawing tablet, which is connected by bluetooth technology, to create digital art. If artists didn’t have these tools, they would spend much longer producing work. Many students reported that they prefer touchscreen learning apps because they are practical and interactive. In fact, touchscreen devices are considered revolutionary in education, since lessons can be adapted instantly. The touchscreen was once seen as futuristic, but now it is part of everyday life.

Reading 2: 3D Printing & Selfie Stick

3D printing is an innovative invention that allows objects to be built layer by layer. It has been used to create medical devices, architectural models, and even food. If consumerism continues to grow, 3D printing could help reduce plastic waste by producing only what is needed. A student once said, “I believe 3D printing will wipe out traditional factories.” While that may be an exaggeration, the technology is groundbreaking. On the other hand, the selfie stick, which became popular in the 2010s, is a simpler invention. It lets people take photos from angles that were previously impossible. Although some critics found it appalling, millions of tourists still used it. Both inventions show how modernism can change social etiquette and traditions.

Reading 3: Virtual Reality & Emoji

Virtual Reality (VR) is a technology that creates simulated environments. It is often used in gaming, but it is also being adapted for education and urban planning. If VR were available in every classroom, students could explore legendary sites like the Taj Mahal without leaving home. Emojis, which are small digital images used in messages, may seem less serious, but they have influenced communication worldwide. Some teachers complained that students rely too much on emojis, yet others tolerate them as part of modern language. VR and emojis are fascinating examples of how culture shock can occur when technology changes social behavior. Both inventions highlight diversity in communication styles and show how people adapt to new tools.

Reading 4: Artificial Intelligence & Bluetooth Technology

Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to machines that can perform tasks which normally require human intelligence. AI is already used in apps that translate languages, recognize faces, and recommend music. If AI develops further, it could stand up for sustainability by helping cities plan energy use. Bluetooth technology, which allows devices to connect wirelessly, is another invention that has become reliable and practical. It is used in headphones, cars, and even medical equipment. A mayor once reported that bluetooth sensors were installed to monitor air pollution in his city. This shows how technology can be adapted for environmental protection. AI and bluetooth are both innovative, and they demonstrate how futurism and modernism influence everyday life.
