4 years of experience in Singapore Construction Industry is needed for Tradesman level.

The Multi-Skilling Scheme provides an alternative pathway for the industry to upgrade their experienced workers. It complements the CoreTrade Scheme, which caters to workers specialized in key construction trades.

The Direct R1 Pathway allows quality workers, who may not have acquired the necessary years of local construction experience but are highly skilled, to upgrade to "Higher Skilled" R1 construction workers. This scheme provides employers with greater flexibility in deploying higher skilled workers on-site, reducing downtime and improving productivity across construction projects. The pathway ensures that skilled construction workers can be recognized and upgraded based on their competency rather than just years of experience, supporting Singapore's productivity goals in the built environment sector.

Coretrade, Multiskill & Direct R1 has a validity of 2 years, to attend Continuing Education & Training (CET) to maintain their low levy status

1 year of POE (Period of Employment) is required for application.

Standard minimum waiting period required to consolidate registrations and coordinate with the BCA scheduling team.

The BCA Acknowledgment Notice (AN) is valid for 6 months. A worker is required to pass the skills assessment before the expiry of the notice.

The application fee for a BCA Multi-Skilling registration or renewal via the Construction Workforce Registration System (CWRS) is $22 (inclusive of GST).

Effective 10th November 2023, Non-Construction Applicants applying for SEC(K) is to undergo an appeal process through ATTC onwards to BCA.

Firms that wish to tap on AEP to bring in new Construction WPHs must submit a proposal to BCA to pilot either the Vocational Certification or Employer-led Process pathway. If the AEP pilot is approved by BCA, the applicant firm can bring in new Construction WPHs via their approved AEP pilot.
