Democracy involves rule by the people or their chosen representatives; monarchy is rule by a king/queen, autocracy by one ruler, theocracy by religious leaders.

A constitution lays out the framework of government and its powers; it isn't primarily about war, taxes, or just elections.

The legislature creates laws; the judiciary interprets them, and the executive enforces them. Monarchy is a form of rule, not a branch.

Separating powers (e.g., executive, legislative, judiciary) prevents the concentration of power and provides checks and balances.

In constitutional monarchies, the monarch is largely ceremonial; real political power lies in elected representatives or a prime minister.

Citizens participate by voting; rights include expression and due process, not direct control over military or judiciary.
