Use of topic sentences, paragraphs, units, conventional rules of grammar, formal and precise vocabulary. It should be clear because immediate feedback is not possible. Reading is possible at any time and any speed. The reader can go over it as many times as wanted. The writer and the reader do not have contact in time and space. Writing needs to be TAUGHT and LEARNT. The idea of an audience generates contact. Never repeat anybody else’s ideas or words without acknowledgment. Something cannot be changed once it is written.
