Use of topic sentences, paragraphs, units, conventional rules of grammar, formal and precise vocabulary. The idea of an audience generates contact. The writer and the reader do not have contact in time and space. The reader can go over it as many times as wanted. There is no room for fillers, repetitions and redundancy.
