Simple Sentence

  • Consists of one independent clause
  • Example: The cat chased the mouse.

Compound Sentence

  • Consists of two or more independent clauses
  • Joined by a coordinating conjunction (FANBOYS)
  • (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so)
  • Example: The cat chased the mouse, and the mouse ran into the hole.

To-infinitive (to + V)

  • Used after some verbs: decide, want, need, start…
  • Example: I decided to watch my favourite TV show.

Bare infinitive (V)

  • Used after some verbs: let, make, help…
  • Example: My mum let me watch TV.
  • Example: His songs helped bring happiness.

Task:

Make compound sentences using:

  • to-infinitive / bare infinitive
  • Vocabulary from the lesson

Rules:

  • 1 correct sentence = 1 point
  • With infinitive + vocabulary = 3 points
