He will, she will, it will > he’ll, she’ll, it’ll Example: He’ll buy groceries this evening. Note: - These contractions cannot be used in questions. “It’s” only means “it is” and does not mean “is it”. It is incorrect to ask, “It’s going to rain tomorrow?” - You cannot combine these forms. It is incorrect to say, “You’re will go to San Pedro.”

The Simple Future

Now we’re going to practice the simple future tense. There are two common ways to write sentences about the future:

With "Will"

Subject + will [not] + verb + clause

Example, Affirmative: Jessica will graduate in May.

Example, Negative: Jessica will not graduate in May.

With "Be going to"

Subject + [to be] + going to + verb + clause

Example, Affirmative: We are going to have fun.

Example, Negative: We are not going to have fun.

The Simple Future: Asking Questions

We can turn sentences into questions by flipping "will" and the subject...

Jessica will graduate in May. > Will Jessica graduate in May?

Will + subject + verb + clause?

...Or by flipping "to be" and the subject.

We are going to have fun. > Are we going to have fun?

[To be] + subject + going to + verb + clause?

Contractions

When making statements, we can use contractions:

I am > I’m

Example: I’m going to see my family in Heredia.

it is, he is, she is > it’s, he’s, she’s

Example: It’s going to be cold tomorrow.

we are, they are, you are > we’re, they’re, you’re

Example: You’re going to go parasailing tomorrow.

Note:
