A Routine That Changed Over Time (B1)

For many years, my daily routine was almost exactly the same. I woke up at 7 a.m., checked my phone immediately, and rushed through breakfast while thinking about everything I had to do. I spent most of my day sitting at a desk, answering emails and attending meetings that often felt repetitive. By the time I got home, I was usually too tired to do anything meaningful, so I watched TV or scrolled through social media until it was time to sleep.

Everything changed when I realized that my routine was affecting my energy and motivation. I didn’t feel unhappy, but I felt stuck. I decided to make small but consistent changes instead of completely changing my lifestyle overnight. First, I started waking up thirty minutes earlier to avoid feeling rushed. During that time, I prepared a proper breakfast and planned my day more carefully.

Another important change was adding short breaks to my workday. Instead of working for hours without stopping, I now take a few minutes to stretch or walk. This has helped me stay focused and reduce stress. In the evenings, I try to avoid screens and spend more time reading or preparing things for the next day. This simple habit has improved my sleep significantly.

My routine is not perfect, and some days are still challenging. However, having a structured day gives me a sense of control and balance. I have learned that daily routines are not about being strict, but about creating habits that support both productivity and well-being.
