1. Past Simple – Description
•Past Simple describes an action that finished in the past.
•We often know when it happened.
•Used for short, completed actions or actions that happened one after another.

✅ Form:
•Regular verbs: V + ed (played, watched)
•Irregular verbs: V2 (went, saw, ate)
•Negative: did not + verb
•Question: Did + subject + verb?

✅ Time words: yesterday, last week, ago, in 2020

✅ 2. Past Continuous – Description
•Past Continuous describes an action that was in progress (happening, continuing) at a specific time in the past.
•Used for background actions, or for two actions happening at the same time.
•Used when a short action interrupts a long action.

was / were + verb + ing

✅ Examples:
•I was studying at 8 pm.
•They were playing football while we were watching.
•I was walking home when it started to rain.
