Hardware are parts that we can touch while software are programs that we cannot touch.

Monitor is an example of Hardware while others are examples of software.

Software are programs that helps the computer to operate and we can't touch it.

Only Microsoft word is a software, others are examples of hardware.

Remember! A computer always follows the input-process-output cycle.

An input device helps us to enter text, images and sound into the computer.

Here, only the keyboard helps us to input data, so it is an input device. Others are output devices.

Keyboard is used to enter text and numbers into a computer, microphone is used to enter sound while headset is used to listen to music and webcam to see others while talking.

An output device displays results, output or information to the user.

Only speakers retrieve sound from the computer, so they are output devices. Others are input devices that helps to enter data into the computer.
