All About the Planets

Do you know the planets?

Do you wonder about our solar system?

In this book, you are going to get answers to these questions and learn the planets by reading and watching the videos.

Let's start!

2

Planets

Our solar system has 8 planets. Their names are: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.

3

Mercury

Mercury is the smallest and the closest planet to the Sun and whips around it in the Solar System. The structure of Mercury makes it the most similar planet to Earth.

4

Venus

Venus is the second planet from the Sun. It is the hottest planet and one of the brightest objects in the sky. Together with Mercury, they are the only planets without a satellite.

5

Earth

Earth is the third one from the sun and the only planet we live on. It is the only planet that can hold life. It is a habitable planet.

6

Mars

Mars is the fourth planet from the Sun and it is red. It is a cold planet and is home to four NASA robots. It is the most widely searched planet for life.

7

Jupiter

Jupiter is the fifth planet. It is the largest planet of the Solar System. It has red cloud patterns caused by storms.

8

Saturn

Saturn is the sixth planet and it is very unique and interesting. It is the most recognizable planet because it has a ring around.

9

Uranus

Uranus is the seventh planet. It has a very unique rotation. It spins on its side at an almost 90-degree angle, unlike other planets. It is called as an ice giant.

10

Neptune

Neptune is the last planet from the Sun. It is the most distant planet and is a cold and dark world nearly 3 billion miles from the Sun. It is the first planet to be discovered.
