Perhaps the hardest thing about moving to another country isn ? t the language , though it is tough . Certainly in my case I found it hard to , as I was coming from a completely different culture and I didn ? t get many of the pop culture references . I ? d meet up with people almost every evening but I didn ? t feel like I could take part in many of the conversations . like that can be really hard to deal with , as you feel you just don ? t belong there .

I ? d say it ? s important to take a relaxed attitude to life when you move abroad . Yes , you want to be your own person and no one enjoys hiding who they really are , but I ? d recommend a bit when you first arrive . It ? ll help you fit in and feel more at home . In my case I tended to , as I ? m a laid - back person anyway , though I know some people will struggle more with that .

Living abroad is just wonderful . I wouldn ? t change it for the world . That said , you do have to approach it with your eyes open . It isn ? t all fun and games and some of the things you go through can really on you . While others seemed to find the different schedule difficult , and the cultural differences that you ? re bound to find when living abroad , I found it particularly hard to get used to the language . My Spanish was actually pretty good , but it really affected me not being able to express myself fully . It turns out that the difference between good and perfect is all important when it comes to getting your ideas across .
