Teacher gets the area ready for the students to play, makes suggestions during play, and extends the experience with questions.

Teacher is IN the audience watching the children play.

Teacher JOINS the children and takes an active role as an equal play partner, BUT allows the children to take the lead roles. This teacher models play skills and builds vocabulary.
