Woodstock Festival and Concert

Woodstock was a huge concert that ( take ) place in the summer of 1969 in Bethel , N . Y . This concert ( to be ) the pinnacle of unification and what rock ? n' roll meant to so many people . An unexpected 500 , 000 young people ( go ) to the concert when organizers ( to be ) only expecting about 200 , 000 with only 186 , 000 pre - concert tickets ( sell ) . With the unexpected amount of people driving toward the rural town , the New York State Thruway ( to be ) jammed and traffic couldn't move . The concert ( to be ) originally made a profit - making venture although it's famously known as a free concert .
