Krist attempted to release songs recorded before Kurt's death but Courtney sued in response. Nirvana LLC was formed by Krist, Courtney and Dave to reach an agreement.

After struggling with depression and drug use for Kurt's whole life, Kurt committed suicide in 1994
Nirvana expected all members to attend practices and rehearsals. After new members did not adhere to this standard they were kicked out of the group.
