1. Disc Sander

3. Drill Press
4. Hot Melt Glue Gun

Turn off the machine, let it stop, then clean before leaving for the next student.

Insert a new glue stick into the back of the gun

Adjust the hold-down fork to the thickness of your material.

Fix the correct sized drill bit to the chuck. Use a chuck key to tighten it if requires one.

Under no circumstances try to remove hot glue. It will cool down in about 2 minutes. Until it does, it will stick to flesh and will cause burns.

Allow about 8 minutes to heat-up before squeezing the trigger.

PPE includes: Safety glasses, apron

Draw a line to mark your work.

PPE: Apron

Watch the line you have drawn.

Carefully aim the tip of the gun at the place where the glue is needed before very gently squeezing the trigger.

Apply only gentle pressure as you push the material into the blade as it oscillates (jiggles) up and down.

First aid in the event of a burn is to run the affected area under continuously running water.

Turn off the machine and wait for it to stop spinning before cleaning it, then leave.

Turn off, wait for it to stop spinning, clean it with a brush (never, never blow dust!)

Place work on work surface where the sander is moving away from you.

PPE: Safety glasses and an apron. Ensure that long hair is tied back.

Ensure there is no-one near you, and then start the drill and feed it slowly and gently into the work ensuring that neither you nor it wobble (as this will break the drill bit).

Gently push the material towards the spinning sander keeping fingers clear.

Do not push material hard as this will break the blade (which is very thin).

Prepare material for drilling by marking location of holes with a centre punch mark about 1mm deep.

Ease off the feed pressure as the drill breaks through the other side. Reverse out with the drill still spinning
