I am a gynecologist, I specialize in oncological gynecology. 2 The topic of my thesis is the evaluation of the 18F-FDG PET/CT test value in women treated surgically due to cervical cancer. 3 Some of them come for a post-operative check-up, and some are in the process of getting a diagnosis. This my day of work/ This is my regular workday in a nutshell. 4 The study included 49 patients with cervical cancer treated surgically from 1st October 2011 to 31st March 2020. 5 The results of my study showed that compared to other imaging methods, the diagnostic effectiveness of preoperative PET/CT examination 6 In the morning I start my day buy reporting to my supervisor. Then we make our rounds. We talk to the patients. We check the healing process of the post-operative wounds. We make decisions about subsequential treatment. Depending on the day I either go to OR(operating theatre) or I go to a doctor's office. I the OR I usually perform/assist surgery. We operate on patients with cancer of the female reproductive system. In the doctor's office, I see my patients. in detecting metastatic lymph nodes in patients with cervical cancer is high, though its accuracy is not explicit. The main objective of my doctoral thesis was to evaluate the effectiveness of 18F-FDG PET/CT in detecting metastatic lymph nodes in patients with cervical cancer treated by radical hysterectomy and pelvic lymph node dissection and to compare the results with the outcomes of the histopathological examination. The patients did not take part in the study actively, it was a retrospective analysis. I work at The Maria Skłodowska–Curie Greater Poland Cancer Centre, at Surgical, Oncological Gynecology ward. Three to Four times a month I am on duty, which means that I stay on the ward overnight. I'm there to help my patients in case of an emergency.
