What does your family do ?

Tom: Hi Maria! Merry Christmas! Are you okay? You look sad.
Maria: Hello Tom. Merry Christmas. Well, I’m a little bit sad, that’s true. I miss my family.
Tom: I’m sorry to hear that Maria. I don’t know what to say. I’ve never been away from my family during the holidays.
Maria: Yes, it’s sad. But I’m glad to be here. I’ve learned a lot from your family. I love your Christmas traditions.
Tom: Really? That’s great! I love Christmas. It’s my favorite holiday. My favorite tradition is setting up the Christmas Tree and having a special dinner on Christmas eve. Maria. What does your family do for Christmas?
Maria: Well Tom, in Costa Rica we also set a Christmas tree, but most of the families prefer to assemble a nativity in their living rooms.
Tom: Wow, I didn’t know that. How about food. Do you prepare a special dish for the holidays?
Maria: Yes, we do. Families get together and prepare pork tamales. That’s my favorite tradition.
