Relacionar Columnas Vegetation ZonesVersión en línea This matching activity allows students to match each of twelve vegetation zones with it's correct definition. por Elder, Kelly 1 MIXED FOREST: a mix of coniferous and deciduous trees. 2 BROADLEAF EVERGREEN FOREST: tall trees with large leaves that remain green all year 3 TROPICAL GRASSLAND: grasses and scattered trees adapted to a tropical wet and dry climate. 4 CHAPARRAL: small trees and bushes adapted to a Mediterranean climate. 5 DECIDUOUS FOREST: trees with broad, flat leaves that are shed before winter (image has the trees in the middle of the picture growing along the creek - ignore the coniferous trees on the mountain behind them)! 6 DESERT SCRUB: small trees, bushes, and other plants adapted to a dry climate. 7 HIGHLANDS: This vegetation zone is usually on Mountain slopes & VARIES BY ELEVATION. It can be seen in Montana in Glacier National Park and other high mountain peaks/ranges with areas "above the tree-line." 8 CONIFEROUS FOREST: evergreen trees with needles and cones. 9 DESERT: arid region with few plants. 10 ICE CAP: permanent ice and snow; no plant life. 11 TUNDRA: treeless plain with grasses, mosses, and scrubs adapted to a cold climate. 12 TEMPERATE GRASSLAND: short and tall grasses adapted to cool climates.
