Explanation

Even if the sentences are using the present tense, they communicate a type of future connected to the plans of a person.

Thes examples show a higher degree of organization. They communicate a future that is pre-arranged.

We need 1 helping verb (am/is/are) that changes with the subject, and 1 action verb (-ing verb).

With action verbs (arrive, start, take, depart), the auxiliary verbs for present simple (to express actions happening in time tables in the future) are DO or DOES.

Timetables mark when something happens (an event or a train departure or a plane arrival).

Arrangements are done among people that is the reason why we use people as the subject for arrangements, and commitments.
