HISTORY OF MATHEMATICS

2

First

The emergence of mathematics in human history is closely related to the development of the concept of number, a process that occurred very gradually in primitive human communities.

3

After

The next step in this development is the appearance of something close to a concept of number, although very basic, not yet as an abstract entity, but as a property or attribute of a concrete set.1 Later, the advance in the complexity of the social structure and its relationships was reflected in the development of mathematics

4

Continued

Raditionally it has been considered that mathematics, as a science, arose in order to make calculations in commerce, to measure the Earth and to predict astronomical events. These three needs can be related in some way to the broad subdivision of mathematics in the study of structure, space, and change.

5

Prehistory

Chinese numbering system with rods. Long before the first written records, there are drawings that indicate some knowledge of elementary mathematics and of the measurement of time based on the stars.
6

Math

The numbering appeared in different places on the planet, developed by civilizations that did not have any type of contact, during more or less the same period of time.

7

Math

The symbols that were invented then don't look like the ones we use now. For example, in ancient Egyptian culture they used a number system in which the number "1" was a stick, "10" was a kind of inverted "U" and the "100" was drawn with a spiral.
