newspapers are usually referred to as the quality press . They are often written in a tone and are aimed at a higher social grouping . Their focus is on the , not the emotions . Their pages are packed with long news .

By contrast , newspapers give precedence to emotion . They use big to catch the readers' attention and dramatic photos accompanying short articles . A very good example is The Sun , a daily British newspaper that has the highest of any newspaper in the world and a current estimated at over 37 million per month ( and digital combined ) .

Also popular are or magazines , which are printed in shiny paper , published on a regular basis ( often ) and contain colour photographs and advertisements often about celebrities , fashion and beauty .
