Yes No 2 Wipe the mercury glass with alcohol swab from bulb towards the tube (from clean to unclean). Yes No 3 Shake the thermometer with strong wrist movement until the mercury line down to 38℃. Yes No 4 Ask the patient to open his/her mouth and place the thermometer bulb on either side of the lingual frenulum (under tongue in the posterior sublingual pocket) Yes No 5 Leave the thermometer in place for 2 minutes and then remove it.
