The simple present is by far one of the fundamental tenses for learning this new language. In this order of ideas, the objective through the study of the simple present revolves around students being able to understand the basic structure of the sentences in English and how to conjugate verbs in the third person singular.
This lays a certain grammatical foundation upon which to facilitate the process of understanding more complex tenses in the future.
