Feedback 1 We report information from the past in the "simple past form" so we use "did not" to report in the negative form. 2 When the reported information is still relevant or recent we report it in the same tense it was stated as in this case, as the teacher is still wating for him to arrive to class. 3 Because "now" was said with the same meaning as "immediately", this last word is a good alternative to replace now. To say now in the present for something that was said in the past would be incoherent. 4 Because we are reporting two different clauses, sometimes it's better to separate them into two different sentences, the second what starting with "that". 5 We report past information expressed in the Simple Past with the Past Perfect tense.

Feedback

We report information from the past in the "simple past form" so we use "did not" to report in the negative form.

When the reported information is still relevant or recent we report it in the same tense it was stated as in this case, as the teacher is still wating for him to arrive to class.

Because "now" was said with the same meaning as "immediately", this last word is a good alternative to replace now. To say now in the present for something that was said in the past would be incoherent.
