Explanation

Changes in nature are called natural events. When a natural event such as a flood, earthquake, or hurricane causes great damage or loss of life it is called a natural disaster.

An earthquake is a sudden violent shaking of the ground. The earth's crust is made up of rigid tectonic plates and when these collide they cause earthquakes.

Seventy-five percent of all volcanoes are located in The Pacific Ring of Fire.

Tsunami's often originate in one part of the World and travel hundreds of miles to countries far away from its starting point.

1 mile is equal to 1.6 kilometres. 300 miles per hour is equivalent to 480 kilometres per hour.

Hurricanes are always formed at sea.

Wildfires are usually large and always produced in natural areas.

Thanks to scientific advances, natural disasters are becoming easier and easier to predict, making it easier for humans to take the necessary precautions to keep safe.
