Learn this ! Past Perfect ( affirmative ) : irregular participles
Many verbs have irregular past participle forms . There are no specific rules , but you can divide them in groups to remember them more easily .

Group 1 : verbs with no change
These verbs have exactly the same form in simple present , simple past and past participle : cost / cut / hit / hurt / let / put / read / set

Be careful !
" Read " has the same spelling in present and past , but not the same pronunciation :
Present : read / rríd /
S . Past & Participle : read / rréd / ( similar to colour red )
