Axillary route to measure the body temperature

There is no need to assess the axillary area before inserting the thermometer.

Leave the thermometer in axillary place for 7-10 minutes then remove it.

Place the thermometer bulb in the middle of axilla (armpit) and put the patient's upper arm down, with the lower arm across the chest.

Using axillary route is accurate 100% because major blood vessels are nearby the axilla

Using axillary is not preferable for very thin people.
