Acts as the chief lawyer for the state. Advises the state legislature and other executive departments in legal matters.

These are proposals for new laws that are put on the ballot to be decided by the voters.

The head of a state's Executive Branch. This person can veto legislation, appoint state judges to court, and call the state legislature into special session to try and pass laws quickly. They are the commander of the state's National Guard.

This person serves in the Judicial Branch and is appointed by the Governor. Every four years, voters get a chance to decide whether they keep their job in a retention election.

Serves as acting governor when the governor is out of state. Maintains records and archives, works with businesses, and is tasked with making sure elections are run smoothly.

Works on a commission with others to oversee the public utilities. Regulates the rates charged to utilities customers. Sets rules and regulations for public utility companies.

Manages and oversees the public school system. Manages certification of teachers, distributes education funds.

Visits mines and ensures that they are safe and compliant with all health and safety laws and regulations.
