Axis
Poles (Point B and Point C):
Parallels:
Ecuador:
It is the circumference obtained by cutting the sphere with a plane perpendicular to the axis and which, in turn, contains the center of the figure. It can also be defined as the parallel with the greatest length.
It is the imaginary line with respect to which the semicircle that forms the sphere rotates.
Diameter: It is the segment that joins two extreme points of the circumference, passing through the center. Note that the diameter is twice the radius.
Radius: It is the segment that joins the center of the circumference with any of its points
They are the axis points located at the top and bottom of the spherical surface.
They are the circumferences resulting from cutting the sphere with planes that are perpendicular to the axis (that cut the axis forming an angle of 90º).
Chord: It is the segment that joins two points of the circumference, but unlike the diameter it does not pass through the center of the figure.
Arc: It is the curve that joins the two ends of a chord, like the portion of the circumference below that joins points A and D.
