Every year, farmers expand the area of land they are using in order to produce enough crops to make money .
and because of the lack of fertilizers, the need for clearing more land continues
which causes the large land area of abundant forest to be used to farm as a means of securing food,
This process is named “shifting cultivation,” and it is causing a lot of deforestation
even though their tools roughly damage the land.
Although we know about the extreme poverty they suffer, we don’t understand the relationship it has with deforestation.
