1 To help with swimming, many animals have adapted with this type of foot help. This adaptation helps animals propel themselves through the water. Also, if an animal has to wim long distances, this adaptation can help it save energy so it can swim further. Some animals that have this adaptation are penguins, polar bears, and otters.
2 Although not usually thought of as an adaptation, these adaptations serve an important purpose for many animals. In most cases, these are around the face, specifically the mouth area, help the animal feel its way through tight spots. IN a way, they serve as "feelers", telling the animal whether or not it can fit into a specific area. ONe example, is that of the North American river otter, which can use its adaptations both on land and in water. On land, they are used to feel their way through narrow channels.
3 This adaptation is found on large animals. In most cases, animals with these adaptations use their specifically adapted feet to maeuver in a rocky environment. The help protect the feet of these animals and allow greater mobility than unprotected feet.

6 This adaptation is used to help an animal eat. This adaptation is found on a macw and helps it crack open large nuts to reach the sweet fruit and pulp inside. On ohter birds, it's used to tear meat, as in the case of the rhinoceros hornbill.
